Quality learning occurs in Yeppoon's supportive, disciplined environment
Social and academic learning outcomes are maximised for all through quality practices in the areas of curriculum, interpersonal relationships and school organisation. All members of the school community should feel safe and are valued.
Behaviour expectations are clearly outlined and logical consequences enacted for infringements.
School practices involves a planned continuum from positive to preventative actions for all students to responsive actions for specific individuals and groups.
Non-violent, non-coercive and non-discriminatory language and practices are defined, modelled and reinforced by all members of the school community.
Suspension and exclusion procedures are considered only when all other approaches have been exhausted or rejected.

Wellbeing, Engagement & Behaviour (WEB) at Yeppoon State School
Quality learning at Yeppoon State School happens for all students. Students feel safe, are actively engaged, and are supported to behave in ways that enable learning.
At Yeppoon SS, the WEB framework brings together practices that promote wellbeing, encourage student engagement, and support positive behaviour. This whole school approach ensures that our learning environment is inclusive, respectful, and connected to students' needs.
Our approach
- Clear Expectations & Fair Support
We define and teach expected behaviours and attitudes. Consistent routines and logical consequences help students understand purpose and boundaries. - Preventative & Positive Strategies
Much of WEB is about preventing issues before they occur, through teaching, modelling, and supporting appropriate choices. - Responsive Supports
When students face some challenges, socially or emotionally we offer targeted supports. These might include restorative practices, counselling, differentiated behaviour plans, and/or small-group interventions.
Our Values & what we expect
At Yeppoon State School, we expect all members of the community, students, staff, parents/carers — to uphold our values:
- We are Safe
- We are Respectful
- We are Learners
These values guide behaviour, decision-making, and how we work together.
Acknowledgement & Reward System
- Staff recognise and acknowledge students who show our values in daily life — in class, in play, at transition times and around the school.
- Students may receive tokens or praise when they exemplify being safe, respectful, or learners.
- Tokens or recognitions contribute to school-wide goals. When targets are reached, the whole school takes part in a WEB Rewards Day or similar event to celebrate successes.
