Instrumental
An instrumental program is offered to students at Yeppoon State School. Recruitment of instrumental music students each year commences in Term 1. Students wishing to participate in the program will undergo preliminary testing to determine placement on instruments. Students will be directed to the instrument they are most suited to based on physical and aural characteristics of the child and vacancies in the program. Positions are available in the areas of woodwind, brass and percussion for students entering years 4, 5, 6. Instruments can include flute, trombone, clarinet, euphonium, saxophone, trumpet and percussion.
The students are instructed in small group lessons, half an hour per week. There is no charge for these lessons which are held during school time. A small number of school instruments will be available but some students may need to purchase or hire an instrument from the school to participate.
If you would like your child to be tested and considered for inclusion in the program, please contact administration to complete the relevant application form.
